Confronting Immortality

My infinite capacity to grow!

I want to complete the task. Start with a clean slate. Check the box. Finish the jar. Clear out the space. Some things won’t end. They just become rhythms.

Rhythms of living.

I say to myself. It’s okay to take your time with things. Take in that bite. Breath it in a little more.

Save a piece for later. We’re gonna stay here a while. Let’s care for the way we walk and what we consume and how we consume it.

Trust me, our bodies will digest the light better. Are you in a hurry to attend your life? No need to be.

Tending to things takes time. Make it a slow, sensual romance. Your life deserves this. It yearns this. Make it worth it.

I’ve seen death and it has…

taken me to many magic darks, in-betweens, detours, and reimaginings of life.

  1. I’ve lost a few significant people in recent years and it only gets harder to let go of their flesh and soul. It a strange thing to see a body with no life. To not recognize it without the spirit animating the flesh. Where does their life live now? How do we connect to life beyond the physical realm?

  2. I’ve gone through a couple transitions in the last couple of years. Shedding skin of past doubts for inner fire, past identities for new direction, a monotonous job for a purpose-driven career (still in the making).

  3. Every day is a death and rebirth of moon and sun. I praise it and give gratitude in this holy cycle. It is the most basic truth of eternity, I have realized.

In its essence…

Growth is life. It is what we are meant for. No matter what you think or fear, you will always be in a phase of growth. It’s the most human thing and the most soulful sensation. After you’ve left your body, you soul will bloom into something more.

This isn’t all or nothing. This isn’t a race. There is no end. There is no limit. There’s always further. Don’t let this scare you. Don’t let life intimidate what you were made to do. This life is for you. Give it a chance. Don’t chase it. Create it. You’ll always make it.

Sometimes I need to hear these words. And time after time again, I will use the same words because human you will forget…

Much love,

Mel
