Living 360: Of The World
We thrive in community.

I once had a dream….
that I was scared of strangers passing in the street, but I would let them pass through my body and somehow I felt them and I knew them and I accepted their humanness and so we could be human together, and I was not afraid.
I will always love first, before I fear.
I could deny violence with unexpected acceptance and what if we were all curious instead of suspicious? What if we expected more from each other, believed the best in each other?
Those who expect greatness will not only strive for it, but become it.
I can’t become great without believing in the world. Believing in us.
A few of my communities…
This how I become of the world.
This is how I live in the world. 360. To the fullest. It’s because I welcome it in. I step out with my footprints firm. Community is walking yourself to the spot and starting up a conversation. It’s creating the spot. It’s co-creating the product.
As an artist, I’m part of many online and local communities. There’s a special spot in Larchmont where friends and I gather to recite our souls and converse in 3-hour detailed dialogues. It’s indeed where the magic is conceived. Where lights turn up the cities glow. All kinds of kindness is observed. Grins and laughing tears. Snaps and jazz hands. We can’t help but thank our luck that many long-trodden footprints have made it to this spot to converse and create poetry.
Creating and cultivating community has been a huge aspect of my life, both professionally and personally. It’s what makes us stronger. What makes us thrive. Do better by others. Do better for ourselves.
Thank you for being part of my community,
Melody
